China's Tech Trap(Why were Chinese Applications Banned?)

CHINA's TECHNOLOGY TRAP

After INDIA, the United States and Australia are also planning to put a ban on the Chinese applications used in the country. What is  the reason behind these bans? In this post I will be explaining how these Chinese Applications and softwares pose a threat to user privacy

INTERNET CENSORSHIP IN CHINA.
Let us first understand  how the Internet works in CHINA. The Chinese Internet is full of censorship and the Chinese people can only see what the Government wants them to see.The whole of China is controlled by The COMMUNIST PARTY OF CHINA. It is more like a state of Dictatorship in China, rather than a democracy(However China calls itself one). Interestingly, China doesn't have Google, or Youtube or any other commonly used app which we have. For them, the only, Search Engine present  is BAIDU. And it has so much censorship that you cannot even find  some of the historical events that the government doesn't want you to see.

For instance,Once a picture of Chinese President Xi Jinping went viral where he was compared to the famous cartoon character Winnie the Pooh. And guess what? The entire Winnie the pooh cartoon was banned in CHINA!!

CHINA's TECHNOLOGY LAWS

There are various laws in China relating to technology which pose certain restrictions on sites, pages, and applications. For instance a law states that if the Chinese government demands any user information from any chinese application (tiktok, shareit,uc browser) then that app cannot deny any order.

This was tweeted by tiktok India
Post the 59 applications ban in the
Country.

This tweet by tiktok makes no sense as what they say contradicts the Chinese laws.

OUTSIDERS NOT ALLOWED IN CHINA

Google, Youtube, Facebook. China doesn't have any of them. The Chinese government does not allow the usage of applications developed in other countries. Not only this, but they also CLONE their software and create their own versions.

For GOOGLE, they have BAIDU
For FACEBOOK, they have WECHAT
For YOUTUBE, they have YOUKU

What does all of this mean?

The Chinese Government will show its people what they want them to see. Media and Internet is full of censorship and lacks freedom. Their laws force Chinese applications to pass any type of sensitive user information which absolutely destroys User's Privacy. This was the primary reason why the Chinese apps ban was necessary.

P.s.- Lets clear a doubt. WHY WAS PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS(PUBG) NOT BANNED ALONG WITH OTHER CHINESE APPLICATIONS?

ANS- The game was originally developed and maintained by BLUEHOLE which is a South-Korean company. Tencent(which is a chinese company, later joined hands and became a co-partner with Bluehole for PUBG. The major part of the game is still managed by its South-korean parent. So for now all PUBG players can relax. Also PUBG has always been full of transparency about their privacy policy and they completely respect USER'S PRIVACY.

Read on to find more: It has been observed by the councils, that after the 30 % syllabus reduction, many schools are still not able to pace the syllabus timely. Either to make a further reduction in the syllabus or to postpone the boards examinations to somewhere in April-May. One of these possibilities can be considered and implemented by the council in the upcoming days.  The CBSE on the other hand has released its sample papers for the 2021 examinations and therefore there's a less chance for further syllabus reduction.
